On behalf of all the wolves at wolf mountain (in Lucerne Valley) you are cordially invited to attend:

Wolf Mountain First Holiday Howl In!!!

December 16, 2006 at 1pm.
Come and share the holiday with the wolves!

WMS is getting out all of our holiday decorations so our visitors and friends can feel the holiday spirit!

Wear your holiday outfits and have your picture taken with the wolves. Photographer and printer will be on hand so you can get your photo that day! All funds raised will go to the wolves.

WMS has had a tough year and not enough visitors to pay for the meat bill the last two months. We need you to come and visit and have your friends come up too to meet the wolves.

Share your holiday spirit with the wolves!!!!
This will be a Pot Luck - so please bring your favorite dish and enjoy a Holiday Howl In with WMS!!! Please call Tonya with what you are bringing 760-248-7818.

There will still be the normal visit donation of $20 per person. (sorry but we cannot afford to close the sanctuary for this event so it will be in addition to a regular wolf visit). Please R.S.V.P to 760-248-7818...

Personal Note: I have been raising funds and volunteering for this organization for awhile… Tonya (‘Little Wolf’/founder) is a great woman and best friend to the wolves. The gray wolf is a big part of why I became a wildlife biologist. Below is some additional information about the sanctuary… please, if you can not make it on Saturday Go to the website and make a donation… please consider helping the wolves.

Thank you for your time.

Their website is: http://www.wolfmountain.com/index.htm

Wolf Mountain Sanctuary is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to the preservation, protection and proper management of wolves in the wild and in captivity. Our purpose and ultimate goal is to save these great noble animals from extinction.

The Sanctuary is located in the high desert of Southern California. We are a forever home for all of the wolves we rescue. We rescue wolves from the movie industry, private owners and from breeders.

WMS currently cares for 16 wolves ranging of various ages.

Wolf Mountain Sanctuary is one of the few sanctuaries which allows human interaction with the wolves. We feel that as the wolves will be captive for their whole life, they need to have human interaction and receive all the love we can give them. The impression a 180 lb wolf leaves on visitors to the sanctuary by rubbing their cheek against them and giving wolf kisses is ever lasting. To look into their knowing, wise, amber colored eyes is a moving, spiritual experience.

We feel that as the wolves will be captive for their whole life, they need to receive the love their caretakers and friends can offer. Interacting with he wolves is a truly amazing experience and it aids us in educating humanity of the wolves plight.

WMS often travel to special events bringing a wolf ambassador to give educational lectures.

The Sanctuary currently operates on donations thru memberships and monthly adoptions. We receive no government grants.
