Man, that is a tough one for sure. If the CRD wasnt available we probably would have found a TDI wagon. TDI wagon with 4 motion would have been very cool. (if they even made one)

If you want to throw all the euro options in the mix there would be a much longer list :D

Well, they never made a TDI with 4motion (for the US), but you aren't the only one who wishes they did.

I want a AWD Magnum (available currently with 3.5L V6 & 5.7L Hemi) with the MB V6 diesel, that for me would be hog heaven.

Toyota FJ Cruiser

Was considering a Toyota FJ Cruiser opted for the CRD for the towing capacity and fuel mileage.

At this point I wish I bought a Toyota FJ Cruiser. Really hope the F37 recall changes my mind.

Fuel mileage sucks so far best so far was 21.6 all highway, 18.5 city highway. My average for the last 2500 miles has been 21.1 mpg at 90% at 68-70 mph, 10% at 25-30mph.

Had a 2003 TDI and although she ran good, what a piece. I hear MB is coming out with a ML320CDI about now, should be awesome if not priced like the Toureg over standard V6. Then again I could own 2 CRD's for 1 MB....maybe I will stick with what I have considering I am HAPPY with my CRD and LOVE it dearly and have had NO problems in 21k miles.

I was driving a really classy 19yr old Buick century station wagon before the CRD, so it was about time that changing vehicles had become a necessity.

I looked at hybrids for about a week until I figured out they were all too expensive, probably too fragile, and potentially more complicated from a maintenance point of view.

Having lived in Germany for almost 6 years while in the USAF I don't have the knee-jerk aversion to diesels that most others seem to have in the US. The list of diesels in the US turned out to be very short. A TDI Passat was the front runner, but then Hurricane Wilma made an impassable mess in my neighborhood, so that started me thinking real, 4x4 capability was a practical necessity.

Once that was decided, there was only one choice.

If i didnt own the CRD i would still be driving my 05 nissan sentra, and maybe a 06 1 ton dodge ram diesel. Was lookning at one before i bought the jeep, jeep was practical truck wasnt.

If i could afford it and could find one i would own another Liberty CRD.

MB dealer in Hickory gave me a free rental today when it turned out they would have to keep the '87 for two days or more waiting on parts.

2006 Dodge Charger R/T Hemi with autostick tranny.

Does pretty good for a gasser.

Another TDI here. Wife has a Nissan Mallfinder that I can borrow for hunting so I'd lean toward 48mpg again. I LOVE my CRD but I MISS that economy. Sigh.

I had a 99.5 jetta tdi and a 99 cherokee. I would still have the 99xj if I had not found my crd. I have diesel in my veins but liked the xj better :D

2003-5 ML 400 CDi period. Xenon and Navi were the only options I was worried about.

If I chose right now, I'd get either a Wrangler Unlimited (4 door) Sahara or a Toyota 4runner Sport V6.

I'm waiting however to see more diesel offerings. A Tacoma (or Tundra) 4door diesel 4X4 would be enticing.
