There are rivits that hold them on but i am still trying to find a place to get them cuz crystler wants 50$ for 5 of them thats a rip if u ask me so im doing so im trying to find out where i can get some for cheep. When u pull the flares be very carefull not to break the rivits that hold them to the body i dont think ther is an easy way to do it.

How about the Renegade Flares? What will it take to remove those nice shiny "bolts"? Of course I'd have to replace them if I have to drill them out. Where would I get replacements without paying stealership prices?

those shiny bolts are just for looks. once the plastics rivets are removed( I like to use a putty knife and rubber and chop them lil buggers right off.) you can get and putty knife between the body and flare with light pressure you can expose the clips and see what diection they go. I use a thin pair of needle nose pliers to squeeze them but you can wiggle them loose. it is a little tricky but totally doable. Try the hardware store for the rivets or you local body shop supply store or even the body shop itself.

There are clips that hold the fender to the body, correct?

there are i think about six or eight clips that hold the flare to the fender. the rear door flares are a little trickier you have to make sure you cut the plastic rivets and not the metal rivets. sometimes you can lift the flare straight up off the clips but be careful not to scratch the paint.

A good body shop supply store should have all you need relatively cheap

Aren't thse the same rivets that we need to remove/replace the front bumper? NAPA has those, the part number is in the tech article if I remember right.

Anybody got a picture or can take a picture, and post here, of the rivets and how they are attached?

well here is the situation. Today when I got into the liberty to bring it in the shop I realized there was quite a bit of blood inside. The guy put his headthrough the windshield(wasn't belted, NO SEATBELT = NO AIRBAG). So, as per company policy I couldn't touch it. I did get a chance to look at my wifes libby before it got dark. Once the rivets are removed pull the 4 or 5 plastic retainers and remove the inner fender(splash shield) and you will be able to squeeze the clips from the backside to remove the flares. That is probably the safes way to do it.

Also looked at some price on rivets vs. push clips(christmas trees) it would probably be better to go with the push clip it you think you will need to take your flares off any time soon. sory I couldn't get pics but I will try to get some soon.
