 Post subject: hold my hand...55w conversion to 100w bulbs

I am thinking about changing to higher watt bulb for my Hella's. What all would I need to do? I am just tapped into my brights. I have no switch on the dash...thanks.

Did you use a relay and a fuse for the hellas? May want to consider using alittle lower gauge wire. :wink: Other than that, it should be ok. :)

Yes, they are both in use. The Hella stock wiring is not thick enough?

Becareful as the Hella backs are plastic. They might melt something from the increased wattage.

I've got 100W bulbs in my Hellas. I just bumped up the wiring to 10Ga. and haven't had any issues. I use them almost daily, and it's been a few months since i did the mod. Even if something cracks or breaks, Hella is pretty good with replacing stuff. My friend's sister left his Hellas on without taking the covers off first, melted the covers and cracked the lens. My friend called Hella and they shipped out new covers and reflector/lens assemblies for free.
