I am looking at developing a true 3" suspension lift for the CRD's that will support an aftermarket front bumper and winch. I am sick and tired of not having the ability to run a true suspension lift. I have a few idea's of how to make this work. My question is what is the free spring length on the front coils of a stock CRD?

The compressed length is ~12" and a rate of 410lb/in, assuming the corner weight is 1200lb, the uncompressed length is ~15", and an O.D of 4.5". I am in the process of having upper shock mounts made for my solution to the lack of spring rates to choose from. It is, however; not cheap the total so far is a little under $800. If you are interested I could post my part list, and get you a set of shock mounts since I will have enough raw material for another set.
