I air down my M/Ts to 20 PSI when snow completely covers the roads as it has recently and once again today. I'm not sure why, but the traction is
much better. I think you only have to worry about tire flotation in very deep snow. The expanded tread also enhances my M/Ts ability to self-clean, it seems, and I only have a hard time in the fresh powder when it's higher than the body of the KJ.
