I'd hate to bring a stock vehicle and slow the group, but if there's a second groub running some trails stock, I'd like to meet up with you all. (I'd have more leverage getting the Mrs. on board too if we weren't just riding shotgun).

I'll keep lurking to see if others jump on board.

PS Lift in March definitely.

I'm feeling about the same way...I dont want to be a burden to the other guys who want to enjoy the trail and have the equipment to make it over the obstacles.

But....

If they do end up having enough stockers to run a seperate group...I would consider tagging along. I have noticed that the last few trips haven't been very big...like 4-6 rigs.

I'll tentatively agree on the trip as a stock vehicle.

I think 4-6 is nice. After guiding at Camp Jeep with 20-40+ on a run, it just gets to be too much. When you are spotting over a obstacle, that many Jeeps would really limit your progress.

Now, when you guys say stock, do you have skids, or is it really, really stock? I was thinking of skids, but...

I will go on this trip as well if we have a second group. I don't want to slow down the vets. For me, stock means I have front recovery points, skid plates, AT tires, tow strap.

Stock for me = Mopar skids, Front hooks, Rear reciever shackle/"d-ring", and Mopar Rails

Can get by 2/17= Transmission skid, 245/70 all terrains

Early March = Lift (Frank / Rusty), Wheels and Tires (245/75), Engine/trans skid (Super Skid/Skid Row), Rails (Boulder Bar/ Skink sliders)

No I agree...I was just making an observation that most of the groups were small and having more than 10 rigs or so would really complicate things.

I'm all stock....have front skid and if I were to committ to this trip I would more than likely have a set of boulder bars. I need a transfer case skid but I'm working on getting one as well as a set of front tow hooks. So I would be semi-prepared...meaning I would be lacking a lift and tires.

I'd just make sure you have the transmission skid before we head out.

OK just found out that I will be heading for Boston to see the wife the first of Feb. so now that weekend is open for me, state employee so long weekend for me.
Moose if you want to take the "stockers" I could bring up the tail end for you. Have been over some of those rocks down there before. I will have everything but rails though, got a pretty good deal on a gas tank skid so bought it instead of rails. Think we could stack some rocks for me

I need to make a budget for the trip to see if I have enough funds available. Where is everyone staying and approximate cost? I would need to stay friday & saturday night. It looks like atleast a 7 hour drive each way for me.

I had hoped to meet at "The 49er", the only truck stop at exit 49, at 9am (and I'd rather that was a get there at 8:45, take a bio break, gas up, air down, ready by 9am). That gives us Indy/Cincy/Dayton guys a chance to drive down in the morning. We then wheel all day Saturday. I plan to drive back to Dayton that night. Those who want to, there are LOTS of forest roads to explore. (OK, I might be able to con, I mean talk, the wife into giving me a two day pass, but I'm not counting on that)

As long as we're at it, would people rather plan on a Saturday down, Sunday wheel, Monday home weekend?

For me anything pretty much works I could pull out of Toledo mid afternoon Friday and be down there in good time late evening or leave here early Saturday morning.
So how many of you with no lifts would be willing to try it. For me if you want to go there is only one first time and this may as well be it. If we have to pile a few rocks, pull someone (maybe me) or whatever that all goes along with enjoying the sport! The more that goes this trip will mean even more the next one then. Of course I am only speaking for myself but a day without getting out and helping someone else out of a rough spot is just a ride to the mall.

If it's tight, I've got a futon. I think some folks might be able to double up on rooms if they wanted, but that's up to y'all.

My best schedule would be:

Drive Friday afternoon, sleep at hotel or something
Wheel Saturday, sleep at hotel or something
Drive Sunday
Go back to work and daily grind on Monday....

I'm pretty sure Pixel and I will be heading down Friday evening. We'll wheel all day Saturday and maybe a little Sunday, then taking off to return to Chicago. Currently, we will be camping.
