Now and then when the lights are on, the dashboard lights illuminate to full brightness for a second or two and resume to thier preset. This happens at random, some days nothing and some days 3-4 times in 20 minutes. It doesn't seem to matter if it's hot or cold, wet or dry road conditions. This condition has existed since the vehicle was new. Has anyone else had this happen?

Yes, every once in a while it does that.

It seems to do it less the brighter you set the instrument lights. I just set the lights brighter and now it only does it once every few weeks or so. I have told the dealer-- of course, "could not duplicate". I am just used to it, bigger fish to fry.
