Yach!

Just found this link to the 2008 model pictures of the new liberty...

http://www.allpar.com/trucks/jeep/liberty-2008.html

Is it sad ot what??

I can't understand why Jeep took the most beautiful jeep ever, and made it a heavy 'dodge nitro'...

The rounded flashlights are gone, the back whell is gone, the rounded shape is now rectangular, and the car is...mm....

I kinda like the front end treatment. At this point my main concern is the amount of overhang in the rear. Doesn't do much for a departure angle.

Looks like the Libby is going to lose some approach and departure angle with the increased overhangs.

Yep... My 1st message...

I just wanted to share these pics, and hear some opinions about it...

About the vehicle,
I always tought the Jeep Liberty is the most sexy jeep around, only because of the differences from the known suvs, which are mainly noticed in the rounded and clean shape of it. The new model looks like a smaller version of the grand cheerokie, which, in other words, sends the Liberty to the large/heavy suvs criteria.

Sorry for my grammer...

I'm very interested in the next generation liberty... I bet if you saw the vehicle in person, you wouldn't be so quick to judge it.

If you look in the KK section, you will see plenty of pictures of the future Liberty (designated as KK)

I owned a old cherokee and i loved the boxy look. Then the made the liberty and i hated the new look. I still dont like the look much. I like the look of the commander but it is just too much money. This new liberty looks like a baby commander and i like it. The only reason i bought this liberty is because i wanted an suv and i wanted mileage better than 20 so the CRD made me buy it.

I have to admit i do love the jeep just hate the tail lights. Its a shame dodge is puting them on everything

It looks like they are pretty enamored with the commander front end look. It will probably grow on me, but for now, I think it looks clunky and awkward.

Hubby bought the new Popular Mechanic with the photo inside yesterday and boy, was I disappointed. I, too, love the curves, inside and out. I've been shopping around for an SUV for the last few weeks, looking for something with more power to handle my new carpool, so I've seen the Commander and the Grand Cherokee -- and quite a few others. The Commander wasn't too bad, so I guess I'll reserve judgement until I see the real deal on this '08. But our model is gonna be hard to beat. Clean lines in a compact bod, reasonable reliability, with capability to beat the band. (sigh) Guess I'd better take care of it...might be a while before its equal hits the market.

I just can't get into the whole Commander look. I'm very content with my '03 :D

I dont really care as long as it maintains the Jeep capabilities off road. It looks like it may actually have a better departure angle based on the angle of the rear overhang. Front end is another story.

Things are adding up pretty evenly. I for one don't care for it. Sort of looks like the old boxy Cherokes. I am a curve man.

Not too sure how I like the KK rite now.
to me it looks like a breed between the honda element and the dodge nitro with a twist of the old KJ

not sure on looks, the most important thing to me if I would buy a new KJ would be its aftermarket product availability, and wheeling capability....good lifts, ifs, clearance, no suspension (ball joint) problems, water fording ability. I want a dern jeep that I can do stuff to and not have to fix 5 other things in the process. Thats why tjs, xjs ect., are so popular in the 4x4 field. You can lift them, stuff tires in them and not have to worry as much about other issues.

jeepdawg..did you get that bull bar off e-bay...was it the same as mine with install instructions in spanish???
