Does anyone have any photos or diagrams of the center dash panel (containing the 2 hvac vents) either removed or partially removed? I'm looking at doing some carpc work and want to possibly tuck some things in there.

Thanks in advance.

Dan

I don't have pictures, but to do this is VERY involved. The Radio bezel must come out, the gauge hood, the little plastic strip along the windshield, the A-pillars and I think the passenger air bag. This should be in the CD manual somewhere, and if I can find mine I will take a look.

Don't know if anyone has ever pulled that before.... It's the same piece of plastic across the entire width of the dash and every single dash component is mounted to it. Try to pull out the panels around it: driver knee panel, passenger glove compartment, radio bezel, defroster vent, driver and passenger under dash panels, and foot panels. Removing these should give you access to just about everything. The only tight spot is up by the center vents, but there is no room to store anything up there anyways.

I'm almost positive that there isn't going to be enough room in the center section of the dash to store a laptop... But the center bit of plastic is probably molded into the rest of the plastic structure. It all acts as a structural member for the insturment panel.

Thanks for the info, everyone. I think I have an answer to the question, now... "Don't mess with that panel" :)

You can mess with it... but only to a lesser degree. :D
