Has anyone had an actaul Tranny fail?

Not TC or the pump failure caused by TC debris.

If so, what are the details, fix, etc.?

tks

Nope, and I've pulled some heavy loads. Haven't heard of any failures, a few were getting erroneous high temp indications due to a indicator mis calibration. I've had zero tranny problems.

That's kind of how I feel also. The Tranny may be getting a bum rap due to the TC problems and I think it's important that we understand whether or not this truely is a proplem to be concerned about.......there are certainly enough real ones not to add to the list.

My '05 GC HEMI has essentially the same tranny (as I understand) and it's been flawless for 30K and that includes ~10,000 miles towing our 6K TT through the mountains.

Now if I could use the autostick GC shifter, that would be the ulimate.

Oh the trannys are kick butt. It's just other weak points that come into play. Sort of like me. I still think I am 30, but then one weekend of skiing and I remember that I am not.
