I installed a powertrax no-slip in my KJ tonight. I drove it for about 5 to 6 miles and I could barely tell it was there, but I drive like an old lady. I pulled into my front field and drove around a little. It sure is a lot easier to cut donuts now. After I drive it a while, I'll post back to let y'all know how it's workin.

Thanks Jeepjeepster.

It took about 1.5 hours to install. I could have done it faster but my 9 year old son was helping me and he turned the wheel while I was installing it and got it out of mesh, so I had to tinker with it for a little while to get it lined back up. I bought it off of E-bay for a song. It's brand new. I've been drivin it around all day today and I love it. It sticks to the pavement when you put your foot in it now. It feels so much more powerful but that's just because of the extra traction

Hopefully yours will not make to much noise. Mine seems to be getting worse as time goes on for some reason. Im sure it has to do with the cold weather though. This is the first winter since I installed the locker..

What weight oil did you use?

Love mine. Amazing off road. Clucks around on road but it's just reminding me that I drive a Jeep!

Hi L.O.S.T. members
I have the same lift intalled on my Libby since 1 year ago and the only noise I've heard is on the turns when the locker is uncoupling to allow 1 wheel moves faster than the other then when I go straigth there's no noise

I have this on a 4x2 '04 since one year and the traccion in the hills is awsome (considering this is a 4x2)
Now I will get a new Powertrax for a 4x4 '05 but I will need the LSD version so I will sell this here in Mexico
Now that I used on the 4x2 I will expect more in the 4x4

Same thing here. I've had mine in for about 2 years now. It makes some noise, but nothing horrible. When I first installed mine, I was truely expecting alot worst. I was pleasantly surprised on how well mannered it was.

I think alot has to do with personal preference and perception. Just search for about any feature/option or particular about any vehicle and you will find opinions that range from horrible to perfect. For example, just take the Liberty's brakes. Half will say it is the worst brakes they have ever driven, other half will say they are great. Just look at some posts about the ride quality of the KJ. Some say it is too mushy and other say it is too firm.

Yea you know what they say about opinions. The only problem I have is that I want to punch it around every corner because it accelerates so much harder now because of the extra traction. It's hard not to resist cause it feels so good to accelerate that hard. It gets side ways real easy now too.

I've had mine on for nearly a year and about 12k miles.

Only thing I dislike is having to go easy on the gas around turns to avoid tire hopping.

Yes, I think it's a matter of people's tolerances for noises, etc.

Sure. I do that when I'm looking for some fun.

But when I'm picking up the kids from Hebrew School, the Rabbi frowns on donughts in the parking lot! ;-)
