Does the TC lockup in 3rd when you lock out the over drive?

Yes. On my '05 (haven't had F37 done), with OD turned off it locks up at 37 mph and above, stays locked up even when I let off the pedal until it drops back below 37 mph.

Not according to my tech. Only in 4 and 5. But what does he know. The manual only states that you need to be going faster than 30 mph to experience the rpm change so at those speeds, it could very well be.

When my overdrive is locked off, the TC locks up at 37 in 3rd also.

The answer is yes, but check it out for yourself.

Turn off OD, take it up to 30mph. Release the accelerator then reapply while watching the rpm.

Now do the same at 40mph.

You will see that in the 30mph case the rpm dips when you release and immediately goes back up when you reapply.
In the 40mph case there will be no (or little) change showing that the TC is indeed locked.

And on page 232 of the owner's manual that came with my 06 it says exactly that
