Well I hit another deer tonight.

Number six for me. Second with the KJ and first to do damage to it.

Luckly very minor damage. Both the turn signal and the grill need to be replaced. The fog light position seems to be modified as well.

Good news is I will no longer have to look at that chrome grill.

I'll let you know if the body shop finds any more damage.

Ken

hit up eBay for some replacement turn signal parts (if possible)

The grill can be had from www.jparts.com

Sorry to hear about the accident though, I hate driving at night on country roads just because there is always a deer waiting to jump into your car.

If hitting deer is a serious er... hobby, or past time up there  you should consider getting an ARB bull bar... they are supposed to deflect the animal carcass away from your vehicle... I can't find the thread, but there was one here called something like moose vs ARB or Mose VS libby or something that wil help the case.

yes, but the bar on the front of ours only covers the grill and not the headlight and turn signal. If the bar covered those two things I would have went that direction instead of going back to the factory parts. Has anyone hit an animal in their KJ with the ARB bumper/bar combo? I doubt that they would protect that area like they did with the Puckup or they would with the Grand Cherokee and Cherokee. I'd seriously like to see some pictures of the aftermath on a KJ

You can get it for a little less at Wyckoff Chrysler: $128
http://www.wyckoffchryslerparts.com/jeeplibchrom.html

It seems like they have a little better prices on everything than the other dealers out there.

Wow .... I went for an estimate (trusted Christian friend) and was stunned. The parts alone were ~$825 without opening the hood. Apparently this is industry practice not to open the hood until the claims adjuster has seen the vehicle. The total estimate $1,400  with the clause that it may increase once they dig into it.

I can't believe it. From the outside the grill, directional and bumper skin show signs of damage. The fog light is also bent / miss aligned. That's it. If it were'nt this new I'd fix the directional and drive it. I'm glad I have a $100 deductable I guess.

I had thought $500 tops. Never did I dream that it would be this much.

Paint and parts are not cheap anymore. IF you can find my post, I'll look for it, my wife did $4900 in damage on our CRD with just a pair of deer.
Found it
