Right now the only changes from stock are the mopar light bar, the mopar tail light covers and a mopar trunk liner. I'm looking into a number of other parts as we speak but I'm only 16 so the budget is limited =/

Ok, that decides it, I definitely need the lightbar. That's SO much brighter than the headlights are.

Did you have it installed at the dealership, or did you do it yourself? How much $$ was it?

I had it installed at the dealership for fear of messing the car up with all the cutting. It was $500(ish) if i recall correctly with installation ( but that included the fees for installing the tail lamp guards too )

Not bad...

Now I just need to find a dealership that's willing to do it (since technically, I'm not supposed to have both the heated seats and the lightbar)

Blimey, that's a pretty nice vehicle to have at 16. When I was that age I had one of these beautiful contraptions;

Yeah it was actually an interesting way that I came into posession of it:

My dad had a 98' explorrer 2 door that was loaded and he was letting me drive it when I first got my license so ( like an idiot ) i decided to go for the century mark. i went over a dip in the road at 110 and blew out the front end pretty much ( although you couldnt tell from looking it it the alignment was completely messed up and a bunch of connecters were snapped or something ). my parents (and the dealer) assummed that it was just from old age and the cost to repair it was nearly what the car was worth so we just traded her in. My dad will be getting a new car in a few weeks because he gave me this .. hopefully a rubicon but who knows.

as for all the parts and everythign thats up to me .. and i had a crappy job this summer =/

And technically no one is supposed to have the light bar because its illegal to have them on the road .. but im sure they'll install them because they like money ( although I dont have the luxury package )

Edit* Thanks ed! Haha my mom had a chevy nova that was yellow with plad seats so I get pleanty of crap ( but I'm not complaining 8) )

On another note could someone help me figure out how much I would have to lift her to put on rubicon wheels and tires like in that other thread? ( the size on the rubicon wheels is: 245/75/16 )

2 1/2" lift will do but you will still need to do some minor wheel well work to stop the small amount of rubbing.

Do your parents know yet how the truck really died? If not, never let them read this :D

My car at 16 was a 70 or 71 Toyota Corona Deluxe. I think it was deluxe because it had an ashtray to go with the fancy one speaker am radio. It took a ton of abuse for being 17 years old with teenagers driving it.

Haha no they don't know and they never will. My dad is an insurance executive and he knows all the stats about teenage drivers so if he ever found out odds are that I would never drive again. It was the oldest car we have ever owned and it was beginning to show some ware anyway from only being driven during the Cleveland winter.

oldest ever?

Gee and to think we kept our Cherokee XJ for 16 years. Still ran good when we got rid of it too. I loved that thing.
