Any of you Oiler's out there ever bought a Lib CRD in Canada and 'snuk 'er across the border...
I wonder if the duties and regulations make it impossible.

It can be done, but you'll need to switch out a few things to make it pass inspection to drive it in the US. As far as I know it's mostly just switching out the dash speedo plate. I doubt the daytime running lights would be a problem. And they will probably take a good chunk of change from ya for the price different. CRD's were starting at 33K up to about 42K Canuck bucks.

That said, there's not that many of CRD's up here. I've seen two on the road in Edmonton in the year I've had mine.

I live in a small bedroom community of Calgary and it is very odd how many CRD's are running around our town. I have seen seven in a town of 12000. Maybe the local dealer had a pile of them at one time.

Not really odd :!: Canadian drivers have always bought more diesels then drivers in the US. Might be because VW has had more modeles available including Eurovans and I think you could also get a diesel Cherokee

No, they aren't importing any CRD Libertys for 2007.

Thanks John....
I was just fooling about the confederate money. When ever my brother in law in, "Ol' Virginnie" needs to borrow money I send it to him...
