I did use the search, but maybe I'm not the best at it..................I need to know how to take off my door panel so that I can replace my front passenger side speaker. I blew it today and it sounds horrible. Is there a write up on how to replace that speaker? And what size it is maybe?? Thanks Guys...sorry if this is a repost

Do you have the CD manual? If so, take a look in there, it will be under the interior section. There are most likely a couple of screws, one is in the grab pocket and one is behind a plastic cover in the door handle area, I don't know if there are more. Then as always, there will be the panel clips, and the best way to "POP" them apart without braking them will be to get a nylon car panel removing stick thingy.
Like this:

After getting the panel off, just unscrew the speaker and replace.

Hope that rambling helps...

Yep, remove two screws then pull. There are plastic clips that go around the door, then you'll just have to unhook the little metal arm that connects the window switch.

I'll find some pictures.

Alrighty,
After you take out the two screws, you're going to pull off a bunch of these little white clips around the door. You can see one that stayed in the door instead of on the panel on the left side about half way down. Don't know why that one didn't come off on the panel like the rest of them. There is a panel remover tool for this you can buy. I used a screwdriver for leverage.

Unplug the wires that connect the mirror motor. It was an easy push one thing while you pull another kind of deal.

The last part is the little metal bar that is attached to the door handle (not the window switch). I can't find a picture of it. The end by the handle ends in an "L" shape that you push out of the hole it's set in. Then the bar is only attached to a little plastic piece. You just pop/twist the bar off the plastic and you're ready to go for it with the speakers. I really wish I could find the picture of the bar, it'd make a lot more sense (you can kind of see it with some sort of blue wrap on it in front of the black bundle of wires in the first picture.

For me the funkiest part was lifting the panel over the door lock.

Hope it helped, good luck!

As a side note, your system will sound better if you have a pair of the spekers unless you're going for the OEM replacement style. I'd reccomend getting a pair of upgraded quality if you're going to be inside the door anyway. It helps to have the harness adapters, too. Crutchfield has good diagrams and adapters and step-by-steps for free with any car speaker purchase. They're not the cheapest in the world but definitely support the do-it-yourselfer very well.

WOW!!!! Jeep has done a GREAT job insuring that you buy THEIR products. After taking out the door speaker there seems to be a transformer attached to the bottom of the speaker by a metal plate that Jeep has installed in between the magnet and the cone. And when trying to drill holes in the door for the after market one to fit it makes the door rattle like a bumble bee. ....SO I guess I have to buy the stock replacement speaker for the Infinity system?!?!?!!?! Does anyone know a good place to find the speaker for cheap?

THANKS

UPDATE: The dealer quoted me at $175 for the door speaker....yea f'n right.
