Update: After 3 weeks to the day at the dealer they called and said my Jeep was fixed. No charge. New battery, EGR valve, flow control valve, F21, F31. It took two weeks to get a new battery. After talking to two service managers I think they killed the battery reflashing the Jeep. I'm picking it up tonight after work so I'll report back any odd findings. Since they had it 3 weeks I wish they'd replaced the ball joints, but they said they have a long waiting list. :?

heh, I am on the wait list with my dealer for the LBJ recall. They said, we will call you when your name comes up...lol.

I live in a back country kind of area, and got it done 2 days after the recall came out. Perks of living in the country.

That's my guess, too.

I think that is why you here so much about them frying ECM's and stuff, Techs cutting corners.

Sounds like you have one of the Jeeps that didn't get included in the F37 but gets the F31. When they flash this, you will get the latest software versions available thus afterwards you may feel a performance drop.

OK mine is NOT included in the F37 but does need the F31. I had assumed my 06 not needing F37 was already detuned. It already feels like it's detuned and any more would be awfull! There has not been much information about those not needing F37 :?: Rob92xj was going to get pictures of the two different tc's but other then that no one seems to know for sure  Are you sure it will be detuned also :?:
MrMopar, any comments :(

Sigh.....

I picked up the Jeep tonight after the dealership had closed. I drove it about 100 yards before the Check Engine light came on again. As I pulled away from the first stop light I came to it had no power...the same problem it had originally. They had it for three weeks, replaced all that stuff, and didn't fix a d@mn thing. :x

I have nothing good to say about Town & Country Chrylser/Jeep in Bloomington, IN. They showed no interest when I was looking to purchase and are equally poor in their service department. I'll be calling the Martinsville Jeep dealer 50 miles away. They came highly recommended AFTER I had already taken the Jeep to Bloomington.

Sigh.....at least it's the weekend. :?

My Jeep got the F31 and the power felt the same. I didn't notice any change in drivability...other than the original problem rearing its head. My build date was 2/3/06.

Before I started hanging out here, several months ago I saw a side by side comparison of the two on Jeepforum I believe. I don't know anymore than that except I saw them. I wasn't dreaming. That is why I have so readily said there are better parts in the late model 2006's. I saw it somewhere.

Since they did the F31 flash update my scanner now works. The code it is putting out is P069...MAP sensor. I can clear it but it comes right back. If I could find the code why couldn't the Bloomington Jeep dealer????? Grrrr.

I guess I'll see how good the Martinsville dealer is.

I went ahead and ordered a replacement MAP sensor to have, or in case the next Jeep dealer can't find it either.

A close friend of mine told me he had a great experience there after I warned him to stay away from Westgate in Plainfield, IN. He had F37, F23, and the BCM recall performed in only 2 days at the Martinsville dealer. He told me to go there next so that's my plan if needed...

Yes, I cleaned it about a month before the Jeep started having problems. I would've thought the problem would have shown up quicker if the problem was due to the cleaning.

Sigh......

I'm adding Community Chrysler of Martinsville, IN to my list of dealers who have their head up their @ss. They replaced the balljoints which was good. They also found the MAP code. But, they said because I had a different muffler and had made the air box inlet larger it was "too modified to correct the problems under warranty". She tried to tell me my MAP sensor was the one on my airbox.

It sounds like in south central Indiana Jeeps are a 'fix it yourself' vehicle...which is what I'll be doing.

Maybe there is too much air flowing through her head! I have yet to see a mechanics logic stating, "if you allow of better air intake and less restrictive exhaust of an engine, that this is a bad thing"

I'm glad I'm picking up the Jeep tonight after they close. If I had had to listen to her tell me my Jeep was "highly modified" due to the airbox mod and different muffler I don't know if I could have refrained from profanity.

These Jeep dealers are reminding me of the old Aamco commercials where the monkey in coveralls is banging on the transmission with a wrench. :x

They must have used up all their warranty reimbursement money replacing the ball joints. I could tell by the tone of her voice she was expecting me to pay for fixing the MAP sensor. She was surprised when I told her to put the Jeep outside and I'd pick it up tonight.

The icing on the cake was when she said the MAP sensor was in the airbox, and my airbox mod was the cause of the problem. If those jokers think the MAP sensor is in the airbox they need to put down the crack pipe and back away from my Jeep. :?

Print out a page showing where the MAP sensor is and leave it to her attention  Another service writer that does not have a clue. I wish they would just go away :!:

The saga continues.....

I drove 55 miles tonight to Martinsville to get the Jeep only to find they didn't leave the keys in my Jeep. Luckily I had my spare set with me.

All the way home I smelled a diesel smell. When I got home I popped the hood to find the motor drenched in diesel fuel. The return line nipple on the front injector was broken. Wonder who did that???!!??!??

If I ever get this Jeep fixed it'll be the last Jeep for me.

Unbelieveable. I guess my friend got lucky with F37 but in reality - that's just a typical transmission job and reflash, nothing CRD specialized. Sorry you got screwed in Marinsville. I guess the saga continues for finding a good dealer.

DLZ_LOU lives in Indiana and he has used Champion CJD on the northwest side of Indianapolis with a decent amount of success. You may want to PM him and get and up to date assessment of that dealership as I thought that they might be loosing a few CRD techs. The only other good place I've heard of is Khalo CJD in Noblesville, IN. Again, I haven't been to either of these but I can tell my time is coming...

I SOOOOOO want to put a Flowmaster 40 on my CRD but it seems like I'd better leave well enough alone. I wonder if I'll get screwed by my 2" spacers someday with regards to warranty work...
