I revisited the issue with adjusting the spring on the vehicle. I have been evaluating other similar designs, which utilize an upper spring perch and determined that if an upper spring was used on the KJ it would effectively act like an OTT spacer lift. An advantage of the upper perch is it is used to reduce the coefficient of friction through the use of a Torrington bearing, or by loading a spherical bearing in the upper mount. However, I found a better (cheaper) solution to reduce the coefficient of friction with grease, between the upper shock mount and spring. The grease did allow me to adjust the spring perch with a spanner wrench. I am not going to use the grease as a permanent solution but will fab a Teflon washer. I removed the pictures off the server until the redesign is complete and will resubmit them if anyone is interested.
