What the hell is going on? Sometimes it is fine others I have to disasymble the darn middle console to get the pin to drop from the lock-out. Anyone else have this problem? Spelling sucks I am just pissed off and late for work.

Brake pedal Interlock switch maybe? Pump the brake a few times to see if it will release.

X2

I took the one out of the contour when it went bad. I bet the little solenoid/actuator may be going bad. Maybe just a loose connection though?

I suppose it could also be the manual lock you have to depress when you move the selector, maybe there is an adjustment on it.

It is mechanical. The pumping the pedal does not help. Sometimes I have to "click" the release lever on the shifter to get it to work. Something is binding when all is not right. Surprising on how easy it is to pull up the portion around the gear selector.

Dealer replaced my shift cable because it was "worn" (defective?) Perhaps you might look at that?

Yes it os going to the dealer for a oil service on Monday and that will be on the list. Thanks. Along with the squeeky windshield wiper connecting rod.

OK it FINALLY got stuck. Took me 2 hrs of trying to be gentle with it till I finally got the screwdriver out and forced it out of park. Drove it to the dealer with the middle console apart so they could see it. 10 seconds we agreed that the cable was broken and possibly the lockout was defective. He disconnected the cable and made an appointment and I went on my way. So far not a single issue with the cable disconnected. Maybe I will just leave it that way when it comes back. Yes all under warrenty, I love my dealer. Looks like they get another customer satisfaction letter to DC.
