We all know that the OEM scissor jack doesn't raise a lifted Liberty high enough. What do you think about using this jack, which I found on an RV/trailer site?

$30 seems like a great deal. Jack's rated at 7,500 lbs.

I'm not sure how much larger that is than the factory, but it doesn't look too bad. (Remember too that the stock jack has a notch to align it with the frame)

What you can also try is including a few (2 x 6 or 4 x 4) lumber cutoffs in the space under the rear seats. When placed under the jack, they can do two things for you.
1) Raise platform for stock jack to rest, eliminating the need for a taller jack
2) Prevent the base of the jack to dig into soft ground

Heck, I think I've read how some people were bolting jacks to some lumber to add in stability too.

...just a couple thoughts.

I bought a bottle jack from an 02 libby on ebay and it gets the front wheels off the ground. I just tried it today actually. I have 2 conduit nuts for a clevis lift and the OME front shocks. Paid $35 with shipping. Came in the holder with the lug wrench and everything. It goes in the same place that the scissor jack does.

I crushed my stock scissor jack, so Ill never use another jack like that. :?

Great minds think alike. I'm going to the local RV shop to see what they've got. JC Whitney has 2 for about 70.00 bucks. Nice thing is the fold down pretty small considering the 24" lift. The ones I'm looking at are rated at 5000 lbs. ea. Worth a shot!

I’ve never liked scissor style jacks. And would never recommend one, they seem too flimsy. I’m in the works of putting a lift on my Liberty but I will probably look for a bottle style jack off a Ford F150 or F250.
