Mine leaked from the welds in different areas than yours. Marty was more than willing to make it right with me, but I just fixed it myself and let it be. I am very happy with it now.

When I got my diff cover, I had some slow leaks at a couple of the weld seams. Called the manufacturer (can't remember who that was) and they suggested smearing some RTV over all of the welds on the inside before installing. I asked them why it didn't say that in their instructions and they pretty much said why would they, like it was a given or something :?

well the jbweld on the outside fixed my leaks

but i figure next time i pull it off i will grind off the jbweld, get the inside rewelded....and then polish or just repaint the outside

The maker needs to hire a better welder or get better equipment that penetrates properly...they should have also tested the piece.

Hey, just noticed this post. Sorry to hear about the leaks. I have had a couple others brought to my attention some time ago, and thought that was the end of it, but apparently not. Seems all the issues were from that first big batch I ordered up. Dan said he had a dirtbag working at the time of production for that batch. I don't think I have had any complaints since that first batch, so it quite possibly could have been that one guy that welded up most or all of that batch. The covers could have been a great item, especially for the price, but this goes to show why I have completely dropped the company. Even with as many covers as I have sold to you guys, the amount I have spent in labor (cleaning them up when they arrive at my shop, making the keys for the fill plugs), sandblasting this last batch, purchasing the correct hardware for this last batch even though the price I still had to pay reflected I got the correct hardware, and return shipping fees for bad product from customer and for replacement to customer, I am still out over $120 from my own pocket (not counting any labor time), just to sell these. Doesn't make sense to loose money selling someone else's product, so I dropped them.

I'll call that guy up tomorrow and jump his butt...again, have him send me a new cover, I will reinspect it, and send it to you Priority Mail. If you can tolerate the slow leak for a few weeks, add fluid as needed, when the new cover arrives, then swap them out, and send back the jacked up cover. When I send out the new cover, I will include funds for return shipping on the jacked up cover, as well as whatever amount you need for 2 quarts of whatever fluid you are using, and more money for the cost of the JB Weld as well. You paid for a cover that I endorsed as being a quality cover. You got a piece of garbage. You should not have had to spend another dime over what you already paid.

If anyone else that hasn't contacted me yet about any problems with their cover, please do so. I know most of the problems have come from that first batch of covers, which I believer was around October or November, but it doesn't really matter, if anyone has any problems at all with these covers, contact me immediately.

Again, I apologize for the problems anyone is having with their covers, and they will be addressed ASAP. As mentioned, I do not make these covers, but I still sold them with my personal stamp of approval, so I take personal responsibility for any quality issues with those covers.

marty....that sounds great and all.....but if you do that i will personally fly out to wherever you live and beat you up for trying to pay me back for things like this

ill take a new cover and ship this one back....but i wont take the money, its a nice gesture but i would never accept it....i dont mind spending the extra 5 bucks for jb weld... or the 10 minutes a day i spend under my car

i have a friend who welds and when i get a chance this weekend or something im gonna take the cover off and spot weld the area....so its not a big deal

its my hobby.....and its not a problem!

but thanks for the great customer service :)

edit: i however have a GREAT idea on how you can repay me back...umm...free rear bumper .... or at least free shipping on it ;)... haha ..

I have one ordered from the last batch, can you check them for leaks with water before you send them? Or........I can just put that money toward a bumper

Checked mine overnight with some motor oil and sure enough it leaked. I know a welding that will be able to help me out. No need to bother - - aggravate Marty with things like this. What is the count at now? 5 covers that have leaked :(

If you have a leaker, I could weld it up, or get one of the pro's here at work to do it. No charge.

i jb'd a case on a quad and it held just finr for years it was on the bottom of the case as well so the oil sat there, never leaked. it was the jb quick (not as strong) and a buddy of mine jb'd a V8 engine block 8yrs or so ago cause it was cracked and still doesnt have a problem with it. so i will hold up to anything.

even used it on floating brake calipers on my 79 ford f250 with dual piston calipers. previous owner snapped the retaining bolt in the hub assembly. cant find a replacement.

Mine is all fixed and ready to be installed. Found three different leaks. The person that fixed mine said whoever made this covers was not doing continues welds.
