Anyone else following Hurricane Rita? It looks to hit the Texas coast this weekend and come right up central-eastern Texas.

Hopefully the Hurricane season would finished by end of September if not we have to reschedule for our National Sea Shore trip.

Depending on the damage, we may have to anyway. We'll just have to wait and see.

I wasn't able to get out of Houston. I spend 5 hours in traffic at 3am and got about 3 miles. It looks like my family and I have to brave it out tomorrow.

Wish us luck. We are going to need it....desprately.

Yea guys, We opened a post int he General section as well because so many read it and not the other sections. You guys keep us post there as well. I am a Texas boy living in So-Cal so I know what it it like. I live in Houston for 10 years as well. I am from Atlanta Texas up by Texarkana. I might live in So-Cal but will always claim Texas as my home. Later...Clint

We made it through just fine. About the worst that happened was my neighbors roof started coming apart, the tons of tree droppings in my yard, and the foot of leaves that I scooped out of my FJ40. The KJ was safely packed in the garage with the chain saw ready for cutting my way out. Luckly, it wasn't necessary. We even picked up some people at a nearby Walmart who were stranded without fuel to ride it out with us and our neighbors.

Thank you for the comments.
