Ok, to stem the tide of questions...

The Provent is installed on the CRD to reduce/eliminate the flow of oil and water into the intercooler, and into the engine. Rather than dump an oily mess on your garage floor like the elephant hose mod, or simply let all of this crud go into your intercooler (and plug it) and your engine, like the stock design, the Provent installs on the CRD and its cleanable, reusable filter separates out the oil and water, and drains them away. The intercooler remains clean, and the engine doesn't have to suck in all of the crap.

Unlike the do-it-yourself mods, the Provent also protects the CRD's engine from other potential problems... I'll quote Ranger 1 here for a minute:

Quote:
"The provent is has a coalescing filter element in it.

The Provent also has a built-in safety to prevent excessive crankcase pressure from damaging seals on the CRD and turbo - it's a pressure relief valve, set to vent to atmosphere if the pressure differential goes above .78 PSI. Whatever you build, make sure it has some kind of pressure relief valve included - the cost of replacing front and rear main oil seals on the CRD will make the $140 cost of the Provent look like a bargain. One additional factor to consider is whether the input/output lines will fit in the limited space inside the CRD engine bay. I believe OldNavy or maybe someone else looked into a RayCor CCV a while back, but it would not fit due to the placement of the I/O connections. "

The Provent is the proven CRD CCV filtration system. I should note a similar system is now standard on the new Dodge Cummins 6.7L diesels coming from the factory.

As for price, these cost around $150 new. I'd sell mine for 1/2 that, plus S&H to you via UPS Ground. If someone else has a better line on the price, let me know. I'm open to reasonable offers. I'd prefer payment via paypal.

I am interested, have you changed the plumbing to easily fit the CRD? How long did you run it?

No modifications are necessary for it to fit the CRD.

I did not retain the hoses that I had used to install it.

How hard is it to install and am I going to need any hoses/hardware? Does it come with instructions?

PROVENT SOLD.

Yeah, mine currently has 48,600 on it. It's only had the EGR replaced once, and has had all of the recalls other than the F37, and has been pretty troublefree...but I cannot turn down a 'free' car from work, so it must go.

Good luck! Looks like I'll be getting a Ram pickup with a Hemi, so I'll miss my CRD mileage...
