We haven't had time to do the ball joint recall yet, so I called the dealership, and they said there were 2 problems. The first is the parts are on backorder, and the second is we are 30th on the wait list! I wonder if I supplied the Moogs if they would do it sooner? :?:

LilredLibby posted that he replaced his own BJs with Moogs (you can take to any shop I assume) and received a reimbursement check from DC.

I don't know if it was parts + labor, or one or the other. But he claims to have proof.

I stopped by after work and they took care of it. During the wait I test drove the new 4 door Wrangler.

I was 26th on my dealers list the other day when I checked. They only get 3 sets a week from DC they said.

I've been "on the list" at two different dealers since the notices came out. With an 03 KJ I got a notice rather early on. Even when they had it in the shop for a week around Christmas to put in a new tranny they could not get it done.

My left side finally started getting some play at 74000 miles (right side went at 51000) was kind of an experiment to see how long it would go. Anyways called around Toledo and just got the run around, one service department wanted to know where I bought it??? What difference does that make? So what if I bought it in West Virginia when I can see the plant from my office! So tearing down this Friday and putting Moogs in myself, the heck with them! Didnt trust them anyways!

Hey lil red....where do I send my receipts to get reimbursed for the lowers. I bought moogs and put them in myself....my originals did not look to be worn to bad at all, shocked me....but the uppers have about 1/4" of up and down play in them, so I'm currently waiting on al's arms to get here, so I can put it all back together. But I would love to get my 150 bucks back from chrysler if possible......thanks again, joe

Hey cucmd1,....I would imagine that would be like taking your own golf balls to the driving range, they'll probably throw you out of there. If they do the work they will want to use their own parts.Call a local shop and ask if they will install Moogs for you.Send a copy of the reciept to DC and they will reimburse you.DC won't cover alignments as they are not really necissary for lower BJ replacment.

I took my Liberty in today for a leaking rear main seal (only 12000 miles) and they replaced the LBJ's right off the bat! The alignment I did have to pay for, but then I asked them to check the rear brakes for a moaning (TSB# 05-004-06) noise too!

Guess I better lay low or the seal will not be done...

The alignment wasn't needed just because of the LBJ replacement. They may have got to you.
