The N132s are a good shock, but less than 1/2 longer than stock.
Here is a comparison with the stock shock

That is why the N132L are such a nice addition. Ride just as nice as the old N132, but finally long enough for a lifted KJ.

I have the rancho's on mine w/rusty's lift but my wife is complaining about ride quality in her KJ with the stock shocks now so would these be a better alternative instead of ranchos??? NOT the longer ones the others OME's as apposed to ranchos her KJ will never be lifted just so you know

One last thing on shocks: If you look at Eddo's pick, you'll see that the 132 is indeed only about .75" longer physically than stock. What you CAN'T see is the valves... OME shocks use a deflective disc valve that is maybe 1" in total length INSIDE that tube. The Rancho's and the stock units use what's called a foam cell dampening system. It's cheap and it works, but it uses a lot of space. Think of oil flowing through Neoprene to slow down the Shaft... you need a lot of neoprene, right? Almost 3" worth....So, on average, our shocks length for length on a foam cell will give you a gain of almost 2" of travel in the same amount of space... that's why the N132 works with our OME suspension that gains you almost 2" of ride height increase in the back and only lengthens the shock by about .75"... you don't need as much shock for the same amount of travel with a disc valve....
That's why the N132L is a great shock... it's the same size as the Rancho product with a disc valve => better ride and more travel!

What is the INSIDE difference between the stock shock and the N132L's? Besides the length? I may be wrong but usually factory installed shocks are of pretty cheap quality. Are these gas or what?

Hey there,

I'm going to make an executive decision here: I'm going to offer the OMENS132L shocks to the L.O.S.T members at a discount!

If you call me (or email me) and mention this post, I will honor the January price! So....roll back the price (opps hope Wal-Mart doesn't sue me!).... the L.O.S.T member price will be $74.95 each long travel shock -- to L.O.S.T members only - and you must mention this post. :)

This offer is good two ways -
1) You can save $20 off the OME Long Travel Shock Upgrade for any of the Frankenlifts and
2) You will get the discounted price when you buy the OMENS132L shocks when you buy them separately.

Please mention the L.O.S.T. Forum when ordering with POST 18432 as your "coupon code." This discount will be available until the end of March.

Cheers!! Heather

I sent 2 emails, it might have been blocked or something..Oh well these things happen. How long is the offer good for?

Thanks

N132 Open => 573mm Compressed => 359mm
N132L Open => 623mm Compressed => 409mm

You must use extended bump stops to run the L Shock. The Frankenlift comes with them... but if you order them to replace your existing Non-Stopped shocks, be sure to ask for a set.

Would I need bump stops if I'm using N132 with Rusty's 2.5" suspension lift? :D

I too am very happy with these new OME Shocks. I have them paired up with some OME HD Coils in the rear and the ride is great. Better then the stock ride for sure. Can't compare them to the Rancho RSX 17004's because I've never had them, but I do have the Rancho RSX 17505's on the front with the OME HD's, and they ride great as well.

You'd have to talk to rusty... not sure what exactly he's selling you. But if it's just the N132 w/ the OME948 in the rear, you should be ok without them. The 132L would need them, though.

Hmm, well, that kinda sucks since I have airbags in place of the bumpstops.. Not to sure how that would work out.. :?

If I pump up the air-bags so that the shocks do not bottom out, then my Jeep will ride like a tank. If I only pump them up when offroad, then what happens if I for some reason flex 'onroad' when they are not pumped up..

Why didnt they make them so that they compressed more?

Because then they wouldn't be long enough... you can have one or the other. Short means no stops, but not as much travel. Long means it'll droop and flex like mad, but you'll have to bump stop it so you don't blow the top out of them when you stuff the tires. It's always a give and take with shocks..
