You guys an your state inspections. You need to move to a state that doesn't police your vehicle every year or two. The only "inspections" here in MD are emissions, and I am exempt thanks to the CRD. Of course selling a vehicle is a different story.

Definitely 8) The only inspection I've ever had here in AZ, except for the standard emissions thing, is a verification of the VIN since the vehicle was coming from out-of-state, and a quick once over to check for obvious problems. They didn't even blink at the crack in the lower passenger-side corner of the windshield or a couple of other minor things that some other states would love to fail a vehicle for...

Can you post a picture of where you tapped into the stock horn wiring? Thanks.

I just cut the two wires right before the plug that goes into the stock horn and extended them from there across the front bumper in front of the radiator. The stock horn is located on the drivers side tucked up in front of the wheel well kinda behind the tow hook mounts to the outside edge of the vehicle. Sorry but I have no pics.

Is that all required to replace the stock horn? Does compressor need to be fed from somewhere else?

To replace stock horn: Unbolt (1 bolt) horn assembly from mounting position adn unsnap connector.

What I did for my setup was cut the wires about 3 inches from the connector on the stock horn, placed electrical connectors on the ends of the wires coming from the jeep and attached my own 5' or so of 18 gauge wire to run to the compressor for the air horns .

Thanks for the info. Sorry to bother you with this, but easier way is I think to check my jeep for it's location.

I wanted to get these: http://www.wolo-mfg.com/417c.jpg
but I thunk they will not fit anywhere.

The cables you cut on the connectors on your jeep were 18 gauge as well?

Hyde, I think this is probably pretty close to what the 417s would look like installed:

Based on the dimensions he gave, I stretched the trumpets out to see how much longer they might be. I'd say there's probably plenty of room to mount them where he placed his.

OK got some HORNS ordered and on the way , a set of marine (boat) horns that has one 14 inch/ one 16 inch trumpet, all metal , stainless since it was for a boat, going to wire them so that I will have a switch to switch from stock to the LOUD ones when I want. Since I dont have a winch yet I am going to install them in there on the ARB, should be nice and loud to scare or I mean warn people to get out of the way!

Where did you get them from? How much $$?

Be sure to tell us what you think about them! A vid would be sweet too. 8)

in doing a horn install, can i just run wires from the old horns and splice into the new horns, or do i have to use the relay supplied?

If u cut out the stock horns, then you don't have to install a new relay. The relay for the stock horns is the same as the one in the kit.
