Looks like I'm still gonna make it on the 22nd. I'll post up a trail report when I get back thursday night.

Good luck, have fun and stay safe! You can never take enough photos.

I'm hoping the conditions will be good for wheeling on Friday. It's been nice up here but they are calling for rain tomarrow night and thurs. I guess we'll have to see what its like. I'll def. be bringing alot of recovery/towing equipment.

Andy you said you'll have a radio by Friday?

Don't forget your air intake is level with the top of your front bumper, not top of the hood. After the rain this week it's possible the water will be high enough that when you enter the creek to cross it or drive in it, the nose down entry could cause the CRD to ingest water and then KABOOM!

Just be careful. I have not done the V6 airbox mod because I'm waiting to see the snorkels from down under show up...

No, gasser air intakes are the envy of us CRD owners. Your air intake is up at the seam between the hood and the grill - you also have a water deflector behind that seam to block water that may flow into the seam during water fording. It's really a cool design.

Callaway...I was up the top of my bumper in water last time and other than some steam from the radiator...all was well.

Here's a good idea of how deep I was...and this was an average dry day.
Image
And that wasn't even as deep as I had seen later that day!!

The creek wasn't very deep last time...but w/ enough rain there could be a chance it may make it up to the bottom of our doors and rockers.

Yea poor callaway...

Andy what would we have done without that CRD of yours???

We had a mishap (as the pictures will show later on..) in the creek/culvert area. I think Callaway was sweating bullets for a while but we got him out w/ some smart thinking between us all we eventually pulled him out. Thank god for them boulder bars.

I sustained a little damage to my rockers...but it's nothing that bad. Just a couple of bruises and some paint chipping. :o I'll get pictures later. Nobody else had any damage and we kept it safe which was very surprising for the stuff we were doing w/ stock KJs.

All in all....very wet day...but not a better way to spend a birthday. Wheeling in the rain!!!!!

Callaway...hope to wheel with you soon man. And BTW Andy...didnt get to say bye to ya...can't wait to wheel w/ you all again.
