Will the LBJ being bad cause the uppers go bad as well? Just wondering had my jeep in this weekend and checked the lowers out had almost a full inch of play of course the mechanic stated that it was unsafe and i should have it and the upper replaced stated that the upper was bad as well. I only have 73000 on her...Called the dealership and they reminded me that i was 31 in line for his his shop and he only gets five sets a week.. He stated that he has never seen a set fail and I reminded him that i am a member of lost and we have had several members have their's fail and I didn't want to be the first one he sees...He said to call him on Tuesday when he gets his shipment and he would see what he could do.. Think they would cover the upper as related damage? If not where can i get some good uppers that won't cost an arm and leg?

I'm sorry to tell you this but I think most would agree. D/C really didn't think the KJ IFS through. Stock LBJs aren't greaseable and turn out to be "defective" or maybe just failure-prone...? Upper a-arms have non-removable UBJs, once again with no grease-fittings...? If you want to fix the stock LBJ, upper a-arm and UBJ problems (such as failure from not being able to grease the BJs) then replace everything with aftermarket goodies with grease fittings. I'd recommend Al's arms, and I think he makes them for unlifted KJs too. Also, MOOG HD greaseable LBJs. D/C even knows they screwed up because in the recall letter they tell you that you can get a reimbursment if you already fixed the LBJ problem yourself, which would most likely be if you replaced them with MOOGs. If you can get them to replace everything for free, I'd do that since you're not lifted. Don't waste any money with the dealership, they can replace things and make them stock again, but you may still have problems in the future and they'll just have to keep replacing them. They could easily fail before the dealership is able to replace them, right now, and in the future if you keep with the stock LBJ part design. Grease is your friend, embrace it with an open grease-zerk

Its a possibility that they would replace the uppers since they know the balljoints are known to fail. You need to make sure the uppers are actually bad first.

called the dealership and they told me that they could get it in tomorrow. but with work and everything I will have to do it Sat asked him about the upper and he said he would have his suspension guy take a look at it and make a recommendation. I hope it is the one as related damage to failing part and it gets fixed for free. If not then maybe now is a good time to think about a lift... Any lifts come with the upper A-Arms?

Rock Lizard is a dealer of All J's KJ products and Al's arms. That's about as close as it gets to any sort of combo deal, but I don't think you'll get any of it cheaper, except shipping from CO will be less than shipping from CA.

Ok took it to the dealership this weekend They replaced the LBJ at no cost of course, asked them about the uppers because the tire shop told me that the left front was bad as well, Dealership said it was ok so i took it to a different shop for the alignment and they said the left front was good but the right front was starting to show some wear????? So I think i will just leave well enough alone and if they fail anytime soon the dealership or one of the shops can fix it for making me confused at to what to replace....since after all they said it was good.... :D
