06+ with Locker? Manual?

My point of suggesting testing Libby vs. Libby was more for his own piece of mind...to get a real world actual answer as to "Does ESP on Liberties suck in general?" or "Is it just my Liberty?" This is what I would do in his situation.

If I find someone with a 6 speed (maybe in Moab), I'll try to do the test. It's going back to the dealer tomorrow morning (service).

So the service tech felt it dog twice (only once with ESP light flashing), but the computer didn't throw any diagnostic flags to his computer. At least they are going to elevate it (I found out that calling DCX and logging an incident is one of the critical steps. Just having the dealer call the area engineer rep wasn't worth the time...if it's not logged, it doesn't exist).

hows about we do what the charger people do and add a switch to the ESP and turn it off completely.

A quick look around the KJ didn't turn up the DSS. Anyone know where to look for that?

Hi, I have a Liberty '06 manual. I have a similar or the same problem than moose. Sometimes the ESP yin the dash flash and somtimes not. In the highway, when accelerate, lost the power like activate ESP without flash and before that the machine works. Ths problem was in the begining. nowadays this happen in a corners, at very slow speed. When I turn off the ESP this problem not exist. I proe other Lierties and not present the problem. Somebody knows what happens? I try with the dealer of Jeep in my Country, but they don't find anything wrong.

I took the service tech on a ride last week and it happened twice, plus the ABS system engaged when I was doing a slow, easy stop. He was plugged into the computer and saw no faults. The KJ is in the shop now getting a new speed sensor for the front drivers wheel. This will either fix the problem, or I will have a lot of goodies for sale after Moab... I'll keep you posted.

is that before or after marty upgrades them with the tube steps? and then there's the rear diff cover.... you may have to fight tommudd though :lol:

i just found a nice cj-7 though, so i don't know which way i want it to go....

Jeger, I have had dibs in for a couple of weeks now, back off before I have to make a trip down to the southern part of Ohio!! :lol:

Hope that speed sensor works out for you Moose, havent even got to wheel with you yet! So you have to get it fixed!!

Maybe we are jumping the gun a bit though...I really do hope you get it worked out moose. But obviously you wont have too much trouble selling your goodies if it comes to it.

yeah, it's the '06 with 21k miles and a stick that's going to be upside down unless i can convince dcx that it's a lemon and take it back.

but you get the jest. Do they think the wheel sensor will take care of it or is it just bad?? Just wondering how they came up to find it?

OK, it didn't fix it. I'm looking at an 85 CJ-7 with the 258

No fancy computer crap there...

I'm going to ask them if they want to try again, cause the one the fixed didn't help

Well that just sucks,I think that ESP is going to be a big problem for all manufacturers.Thay are taking all the fun out of driving :twisted:

Anyone with an '05 want to trade? My KJ has Extra Safety Precautions built in (although I'm not sure I'd feel right about selling it to anyone on this forum...)
