Just got back from a long test drive on all kinds of roads and all kinds of driving.
It never came close to stalling again.
But now I don't know if to be happy or more worried. It actually performs better than ever now. 1st gear is not as hard to take off in, not as tightly-wound and jerky. When I shift now it feels more precise as opposed to the sloppy feeling I had before (don't know how else to describe it). I still get the occasional clunk when shifting probably from driveline slack, but not nearly as bad as it was before I took it in.

Still have the power sag when accelerating out of a corner at times, but they said this was a normal occurence due to the drive-by-wire system. The only thing that worries me is if they did something else to it why didn't the say it or write it on the repair order. Maybe it was 2 gallons low on gear oil. Anyway if it keeps performing like it did tonight I may finally take the temporary tag off and slap the license plates on it that I have sitting on my floor.
I can really haul booty in this thing now. The best way to describe it is just to say it is much more precise....feels like a sports car compared to before.

I was glad to get a chance to test drive the automatic Liberty for a couple days. I can now see the good points of both. After driving tonight though I think I prefer the manual...........can really haul booty. The shifting with the automatic was weird, but nice in heavy traffic, but it wasn't as big a deal as I thought it would be. I would gladly take either if they were both free.

My aunt has a 3.7 auto KJ and my mom has a CRD. Compared to them, my 6speed is by far the best to drive. Though, if I could have gotten a CRD 6speed I'd have been on that like a fat kid on donuts.

I hate the "drive by wire" electronic throttle in my 07 auto. My girlfriend's 06 and the 03 we used to own both have significantly better throttle response.

Heck, my auto will lightly hesitate coming out of a turn once in a blue moon.

There is a procedure to recalibrate the throttle on here. I tried it on my 07 and it minimally improved my throttle response. I believe you turn the key ON (not start), wait for all dash lights to go off, press throttle down fully once and let up, and turn the key off. Maybe the improvement was psychological, I don't know. But, its worth a shot.

Glad it runs a bit better now though.

Ditto that thejawsofdeath. The diesel mated to the 6 speed would have been a sweeeet set up. Make mine krispykreme glazed...
Congrats macattack. Hopefully this will all be behind you. The break in will just help to butter things out. I absolutely love mine...
