Got a 04' EVIC unit off E-Bay for my 05' Sport but didn't get the wiring harness. Anybody know were I can get one or how to make one?

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer,

Rooter

Well, for a minimal amount of funds, you'll have to go to a junkyard, and pick up the connector/pigtail for the EVIC. There's tons of Intrepids, Concordes, 300Ms, Grand Cherokees in junkyards you can get this from. From then, just extend the wires. (You can get new wire from an auto parts store) I don't have the link to the EVIC/OTIS writeup, but I'm sure someone does. It'll show you where to splice to hook everything up.

Please post the results after the install. There has been some discussion if the 04 Evic will work on an '05. No idea why it wouldn't, but I'd like to add one to my Renegade.

My local dealer says NO, but then he can't tell a 4x4 from a 4x2 either

I'm VERY intersted in this as well. Although I'd think finding one from an '04 is just as hard as finding one from an '05. I hear that the temperature readout will not work as the way this is done has changed between '04 and '05. Maybe you can squash this rumor!!

I can sy this for sure. The 04 are different for sure because of the computer. In late 03 they change to a single computer unlike the early 03 and below that had 2 computers. If the models are both single computers they might work.

I have an 04 and I am using an 03 early EVIC and the temp does not work. Not a big deal to me but it will be to a lot of folks.

Not sure but i would guess...I said guess... that a single BLM computer KJ would work on any single computer... but a 2 computer would not...Does that make it clear as mud? later...Clint

ok so what other '05 DM Models use the same computer and also have EVIC as an option? maybe there is one that is more common and can be found already in a junkyard.

Hi all,

Thanks for the input to me question.

Well after hearing the questions and quotes here, I don't think I am the right guy to break this trail.

I now have a like new EVIC unit from a 04' Liberty (built 6/04 from what a sticker on the inside of the unit says) for sale if someone else would like to give it a shot. The unit is in the light tan color. (Will sell for what I paid for it last week. $49.99 + $20.00 shipping)

PM me if anyone has intrest
