So it was time for the 25k oil-change. My oil changes are free through my dealership (part of the extended warranty), so I take it in there. I tell my service manager (my NEW service manager after I effectively fired my old service manager that answered any problem of mine with nothing but hassle). Anyway, I tell me service manager that there's a ball-joint recall out, so he puts that down. I tell him we probably should do the F37, so he tells me that all the parts are in stock and he'll crank that out. He asks me if there's anything else going on, so I tell him that I've noticed a few drops of oil where I park during the day. I hadn't had time to get under the truck yet to check it out, so he tells me he'll check it out. Then he hands me a little piece of paper that says he's giving me a free rental while they work on my little CRD tractor.
I ask the guy at the Enterprise counter (they have an Enterprise counter in the service bay) if they have any trucks, so he hooks me up with an '07 Dodge Ram, 4-door 4WD in shiny silver. Nice. I drive to work and barely manage to squeeze it into my parking place.
About two hours later, my service guy call up and says, "We found your oil leak." Then he pauses and I'm left wondering, "What in the world..." Then he continues; "It's your turbo. We need to replace it. It'll be Monday before we can get the parts."
So, I don't know what the whole story is, but my little CRD is all taken apart and living in someone else's garage. I hope it's going to be okay. He didn't tell me what specifically was wrong with the Turbo...
I guess we'll see next week.
Same here, had the turbo replaced 2 weeks ago. It gave me some very noticeable performance improvements. I also had them replace the CAC hose since it was soaked with oil.
I never have sucha nice dealer experience though. Rental car...... *dream*......
