 Post subject: receiver shackle lock...

does anyone know if a lock can be put in the warn receiver where the d-shackle goes in the other end?

the receiver can be locked into the hitch with a standard hitch lock via the hitch pin hole ... was that the question?

i know that, and i have mine locked in there, but i have the shackle in the back of my jeep b/c i don't want anyone to steal it. the question is can i lock the hole where the shackle would go in?

Just put the locking pin in the empty hole?

but there is not a lock specifically made to go where the shackle goes?

There could be, but Ive never seen one. If you get it really tight like 05kjrenny said, they wouldnt be able to steel it without a pair of channel locks..

Get one of those really really BIG philips screw drivers, that are like 20" long, rotate the shackle against the hitch, put the point of the screw driver in the shackle bolt hole and tight the crap out of it. I did that well over a year ago and it is still there, in the frint hitch, even after going through a Passat rear bumper :twisted:
