Just contacted my local OME store (ARB) here in Australia trying to find some info on the new longer rear shocks for the KJ. He tells me they are not available for local distribution & are export only. Can anyone get me some info, I want to know how much longer they are than the stockers & how much longer they are than the current OME shocks for the rear of the KJ.

I recall a picture on here showing 2 shocks side by side, the stocker & the current OME, the OME was only about 1 inch (or less) longer. Does anyone have a picture of all 3 lined up for comparison? Even better still with the rancho's as well. Be interesting if OME just bought a rancho & built a shock with the same extension & compression lenghts.

Beware of information errors!
On 5 jan 2007 ARBSeth has mentioned for the N132L: open 630, compressed 395 mm.
On 19 mar 2007 he mentioned for the same N132L: open 623, compressed 409 mm (see link below)
http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/vie ... c&start=45

This more recent info suggests a maximum travel of 214 mm. That is exactly the same travel as the regular N132 (open 573, compressed 359). This might indicate that the extended shock is technically the same, only with a rigid extension, which is very disappointing.

The factory rear shock is open 559, compressed 347 mm, hence a travel of 212 mm, nearly the same as the OME.

Im not sure which info if correct on the N132L..

Anyway, if you notice, I commented on the fact that it compresses less then the normal 231. ARBseth said that is something you must give up in order to have more droop. You cannot have both stock compression AND droop. When people order these shocks, they are usually lifted with bigger tires and need bumpstops anyway. They are looking for more downward flex.. Not over all flex. :)

Not sure about measurements but they sure worked great in Moab and rode Way better over rough terrain and on the road than the Ranchos ever did.

Anyway it would be good for the seller and for the possible purchaser to know the exact specifications.
We could feel safier ordering it through the net overseas ( In case we can do it ).
