Did you remove the head for the install OldNavy?
Yes I did.
I took the filter off it first then with filter off, but the head still mounted. With the head still mounted to firewall I removed the filter stud from the head. It was so tight and difficult I don't think it could be removed any other way. Thank God I had a 8mm socket for my 3/8" drive ratchet or I would been a 1/2 hour getting the thing out due to the thread locker they used.
When I went to reinstall it I did it by holding it in my hand for a couple of reasons, but mainly due to just to be able to turn the allen wrench more then a 1/8th of a turn at a time and it was a lot easier to do with my huge hands this way.
Once the adaptor was in I screwed the filter on till contact with sealing serface, I just free spun it till it hit the seal and then gave it about a half turn. I have had no leaks or problems with the install. I also did not prime the filter with unfiltered fuel, just used the pump and it didn't take but about a minute of pumping then I hit the starter and it fired right off and ran just fine. And has for 3 days now, and I feel alot better about the Cat filter on the rig then the OEM POS that the factory installed.
Hope this helps.
