I sure thought I was going to be wishing I had my Step Skinks before I went out today. It started out raining lightly this morning so I think, what a great day to go out ot the new OHV park that I just learned about (it really is new... built while I was in CO a few years ago... anyway), I didn't feel like getting muddy so I left the swaybar on and tires at 38psi but, didn't really have too much difficulty. Except on one narrow track which was probably actually meant for 4-wheelers and motocross usage but I took it. It had a serious hump to it and on my left, a nice little washout ravine. I was riding along the hump, trying not to scare the girl in the backseat too much (she was whimpering, re-living a rollover she'd been in, I guess), when the whole Jeep slid sideways into that ravine. Didn't hit anything or do any damage but, I thought for sure I was gonna be wishing my skinks were on. Everyone with me thought for sure we were stuck there, high-centered but, I just gave her a bit of gas and she inched up out of the ditch. I had my doubts about these tires but, after today, I must say, I'm impressed so far. But, Marty, is there any way you could hurry those up a bit? j/k, I will wait for high quality but, let's just hope I don't have any more close calls like today. Sorry, would have taken pics but, it was near blizzard conditions by that time and I didn't feel like getting out in the mud, anymore. Here's a couple that I did get, though:

Are the silent armors an A/T tire or are they street?? just wondering, but anyway I think close calls are the most exhilerating part of offroading :D (i'm kind of a adrenaline junky). Glad you got out ok and all was well.

Was that in CO? It sure looks like the Muddy Gap area. All you need are the oil pumps in the background and it would be WYO for sure! :)

Well, it's out towards Muddy Gap but in Wyoming; West of Casper. All the oil rigs are North of town. But it's not as far away as either of them. That's only 10 miles from my house and yes, today, it's covered with about 4-5 inches of snow. Really wet, sloppy snow that will probably all melt by this afternoon and make for even more mud! :D

I think they come in a highway tread, as well but mine are M+S

Almost all tires say M+S now-a days. My Goodyear HP's say M+S and they are very far from being a mud tire.

ahh, I was wondering, tread doesn't look bad but I wouldn't call it a mudder. Never really paid much attention to tires before. But, this is the first thing I've owned that is worthy of upgrading them (only had "family" cars with whatever was recommended, before). I tried taking a pic of the tread but my crappy camera just won't capture it well:
