I went to install my OME 132's today and I discovered that my upper shock mounts are bent in. My guess is someone (the dealer) Used the wrong shocks on the vehicle and when the tightened them they bent the upper shock mounts inwards. Any suggestions of how to straighten out the upper shock mounts? Should I just reverse the process by inserting the bolt and threading a nut inside the mount and then torque the bend out by applying pressure outward as I twist the bolt out? My other option is a frame shop.

i had to tighten the shocks that came with rustys lift so tight that i bent the mounts as well. wheni replaced those with the ranchos ~

i just got the handle end of a hammer, put it between the inside / outside of the shock mount, and pried out. this straightened it up.

Similar thing happens w/ Ranchos if you don't shim them w/ washers. I used a pry bar and got it fixed up fine when I installed the Longer OME's.

I tried a sixfoot prybar but maybe my 300lbs isn't big enough. I am going to try my bolt trick today and let you know how it goes.

I'll try to take a pick for you ozltd, but I'm right in the middle of my TJM Front bumper install and Rock lizard rear bumper install so this has kinda been put on the back burner.

Sooooo....It isn't just the Rusty's Lift? The Ranchos don't have proper width either?

Yea I just did my Rustys lift this weekend and I had to overtighten the bolt and deform the metal to get it to be slightly quite until I can fix it right this week sometime. I cant believe they dont send more washers with the kit.

What size washers do you need? I want to be prepared when mine go on.
