I can relate really good to 4, 5, and 6.

I was at the KFC drive in the other day and the little voice out the loudspeaker asked me" Sir could you turn off your engine please?" I just told her no, I cant. I didnt wanna get in too much detail explaining her turbo cool down times and all that :D

I just assumed it was understood that we were superior. I mean, come on, similar performance and better economy. Sounds better to me. :)

I always try to be nice to anybody who has a chance to be alone with my food. Most lines I hit are long enough for the Jeep to have cooled down anyway.

I figure with the difference in the price of Diesel to regular gas and my 26mph highway I am getting the equivalent of 40 miles per gallon in a gas engine. :D

Hey, that is a cool way to think about it! But how to figure that out exactly? I guess that dollar per mile calculation someone did before. Lessee. Assume 25 mpg (seems average on this list) at $2.80/gallon diesel =8.93 miles per dollar of diesel in the libby CRD. Gas Libby 4x4 Automatic gets 19 mpg (better than average from what I hear, but lets be nice) at $3.15/gallon of gas = 6.03 miles per gallon of gas.

That gives you a half again (1.48) advantage per dollar spent on fuel!

>>edit: true<<

That's like 37.5 mpg! >>>edit: so very WRONG, how come nobody caught my faulty logic? Are you all as senile as me? I can't get my good mielage to count TWICE. Can only multiply my mpg by the ratio of gas price vs diesel price. So it is really only 28.1 equivelent.<<<<

The correct braggin rights formula is just:

CRD MPG * (Gas$/Diesel$) = bagging rights equivelent = miles per gas dollar gallon

But these prices and mileage numbers vary from place to place. Here's the formula to calculate your local "gas car equilelent miles per dollar":

"CRD MPG" = Your CRD ave mileage
"Gasser MPG" = What mileage a gasser automatic 4x4 libby would get if you drove it
"Gas$" = what people pay for gas around you
"Diesel$" = what you pay for diesel

(CRD MPG^2 * Gas$)
Gasser MPG * Diesel$

= Your Gasser equivelent MPG

AKA your bragging rights

Now include the stoichiometry for differences in bio mpg and power output in relation to driving style :P

Don't get me started...once I get in full geek mode, it is really hard to stop until I have a beer and a couple of episodes of Battlestar Galactica to calm me down....
