Hi all and especially Annette: Each spring we need to do a Maintenance Plan for our trail. This is where we survey it and determine what needs to be done in the future: any hazard trees, brushing back overgrowth, boulders, checking water runoff areas, etc. This probably wouldn't take a long time. Annette, as liaison, I'd hope you could do this (hope you're feeling better). If not, then someone else. It's best if I ride with you to discuss what we plan to do while I'm filling out the forms. We'd need at least one other vehicle/member to go with us. Anyone?

Hello there, and thanks Ted I am feeling better. I have the next few weekends off. I guess putting in 12-15hr days for the last couple of weeks paid off.
Let me know what is a good time and we'll head up there and get this taken care of.

Thanks again Ted

That's great, Annette! Here's a thought: I'm doing a Maintenance Plan with a few of the Dirt Devils on 1N34, Dishpan Springs, on Saturday morning, May 12th. You and whoever else could come on that too, if you'd like. Then do 2N33 in the pm. Sound like a plan?

How about meeting at the foot of SH 173 (where it turns to dirt) at 7:45? If anyone else is coming, that's an easy place to meet. I'm supposed to meet the Dirt Devils at the North Shore Volunteer Center at 9 am. What will you be wearing so I can recognize you? I'll be in a clown suit - no, wait, maybe something different this time.

Actually Sammy is still protesting having to come back from Moab early so I'll more then likely be in a full length bare shoulder Khaki LJ. But I'll be sure to have my pretty purple AAT t-shirt on and with the hot sun out I'll be sure to bring my Goofy hat :D

Saturday was a beautiful day to be out in our local mountains.

We met up with Ted and a few of the Dirt Devils at one of the work stations up in Arrowhead. Thank you Roger, Castillo, and Scott for letting us tag along on your maintance run of Dish Pan Springs.
Man did we have some major cleaning up to do on the waterfall. We got to the base of it and got word that a zukie samuri had just laid over. With Roger and Castillo manning the winch and snatch block we were able to get him back on his wheels and to the top and then guided his friends thru the waterfall to keep them from making the same mistake the zukie did.

We finished up the trail with lunch at one of the camp grounds and then Ted and I went to go scout our trail.
All and all out trial isn't in to bad of shape. The trash was too bad at all. A few cans and bottles, so that was a good thing. But the trail does need attention when it comes to the over grown brush and the clogged culverts. We are going to be needing to set a day to go up there and do what they call "brushing" and what that is is just cutting the over growth back off the trail. We will also need to clear the culverts of debris so they will drain properly and not erode the trail.

Thanks Ted for a great day. I guess the next thing we need to do is set a day to start cleaning.

Great report, Annette, and yes, we need to set a date. Depending on how many come, we may need to chew at it. Thanks to you and Roy for supporting the AAT program. 8)

Ted and Annette:
I have just been appointed the adopt-a-trail coordinator for the AZ state association of 4wd clubs. I am in the process of trying to figure out what my plan is going to be. I would appreciate any information you can provide me regarding standards and procedures that you all use and how you go about working with the clubs and land agencies.
Thanks in advance and keep up the good work!
