Its bad enough with the diagram if you dont know the trick, but try this:

Get an old bug like that and put a custom shift knob on there with no diagram and ask a new driver to back it out of the driveway.

Bring a chair.

when i was 16 i was the designated driver for my dad and his friends one time in his buddies '42, i believe, willys. he said something about it being one of the oldest in the country, that was about 1980.

i just remember it having lots of gear shifts and could only do 30 topped out.

Didn't that have a foot switch to start? Been a long time. I mostly drove a 3/4 ton and a deuce and a half when on wheels. Figured out that upper case and lower case thing on the first trip.

I actually smacked up a 2 1/2 ton on one trip. I could not figure out what that buzzer meant. Kept throwing switches until it stopped. The first time I needed the brakes, found out that the buzzer meant a loss of air pressure. Plowed right into a RMK/BRJ truck filled with Vietnamese laborers.

Yee, hah!

Yup,your right,by your name I figured you would know :D .The start switch is located under the clutch pedal, looks like a high beam switch(it is one),so when you press the clutch in you have to kick your foot out a little to the left to hit the start switch.
