I just had to undo the ORM, and clear the code with the scanner :? . My ball joints came in so it goes to the dealer on Monday

I don't think the provent is going to help much, I've run the EHM since 500 miles and after 9K it looks just as bad.

If you have oil in the CAC system after doing the EHM then you have a problem and need to see what is causing the oil into the CAC System. Mine are bone dry after 10,000 miles.

Mine are bone dry. I'm attributing the build-up on the sensor to the EGR system. Hopefully, the ORM will keep it somewhat cleaner. Although, I do run at times B20 or higher, and that is known to soot a bit too.

Finally took the plunge and cleaned mine tonight. I picked up a can of MAF cleaner at NAPA and it did a great job of losening the crud. The combination of ORM, warm weather, miles and ULSD have given me a boost in mileage of about 2.5 mpg. Time will tell if a clean MAP boosts it more.

Have you looked at the how to pic's on the FAQ on CRD section? It is on the intake manifold not the firewall. Where did you see a picture with it on the firewall? Mine is an 05 model and is the subject of the pictures on the CRD FAQ page.

The picture is misleading. When I first saw it I though it was on the firewall.

Once you locate it, it's easy. It is the sensor on the intake manafold under the wiring harness. It's held on with one screw.

Very easy to get to.

Only to amatures, it states in the directions where it is and that first picture is with it removed, the second pic states that this is were it goes in the intake manifold and shows hole. What you are doing is not read the directions with the pictures.

Follow the CR (common rail) down the drivers side and you will see a wire connector coming out of the drivers side of it. There is also like a conduit tray over the top that that carries the wiring harness. Under the harness and behind the wire connector to the CR you will see another electric connector hooked to a partially hidden blue sensor. Note: there is also a piece of wire or tubing with loom on it partially covering it that lies between it an the connector to the CR. That's it. There is a lobe on the back side that you can't really see that has the allen head screw in it that you need to unthread. If you run the long end of th 4mm allen down you can loosen it. I took the screw out and the washer stayed on then I wiggled the sensor out. It is tight due to the O ring and the earlier mentioned tube. It looks like a tougher job to get out than it turned out to be for my partially crippled hands.

Maybe I was a little gruff or impatient there in my statement, sometimes I forget that at one time I didn't know how to change the oil or tune a car. Like so many here I learned because I needed to save the money or make sure the job was done correctly.

No fault to you Oldnavy. You are correct in your assumption. I'm a visual learner. You can tell me how to do something step by step and I won't get it. It just doesn't sink in. But you show me once (or let me do it with some instruction), and I've got it.

That mental handicap is the only thing keeping me from brewing my own biodiesel. I want to see it done before I do it.

It took me a while to find it too. Here are some pictures showing its location with increasing zoom. In the final picture you can see some of the blue Bosch sticker on the top of the sensor. Some of the blue on mine came off from the brake cleaner.

If any of the moderators want to add those pictures to the FAQ (at least the 2nd & 3rd ones), here are the tags:

Since I found that yesterday afternoon, my sensor is as clean as new!

**EDIT: I reorganized the pictures on my picture hosting site last week and just fixed the IMG tags here.

Obviously not all CRD's a made alike. There is no way you could see my MAP that clearly. Mine is smack dab under the wire harness and almost impossible to see.

Same with mine. I had to lift the wiring harness up and over a bit to get to the MAP.

When you do get around to removing the MAP Sensor just be careful. I had one of the screwheads round out on me and I have yet to get the sucker out.

By "one" do you mean that you have had it out multiple times or that you have multiple screws? Mine only had one screw. It was tight, I could not loosen it without attaching a bit of a breaker bar to the short end of the allen wench, but not so tight that it would strip unless I was using the wrong sizw wrench think.

It may only have been one screw, I don't remember if my sensor had two screws or not. Anyway, I do remember using a ball-end mm allen wrench. The size escapes me and yes it was on tight.
