HHey all,

I have an 06 Sport...just have a question about the cigarette lighter / power port in the radio area in front of the shifter

i have a big open storage area on the left part, and then a power port on the right corner of it.

ive seen pictures on here of other libertys with 2 ports and an ash tray / coin holder in it

i REALLY want that...i have my ipod plugged in one spot (that only stays on with ignition) and i want to be able to plug my car charger in at the same time , but with only one port (that turns off with the car) i cant....

so can anyone tell me where i can find one, im assuming the dealership.....is it a limited option or something?

any help would be helpful

thats what I use, cheap cigarette lighter splitter.

older KJs had them, 02 and 03 had them.
on 04+ they were splitted. The power (AC) moved back to the cargo area (where it belonged) and cig remained up front.

yeah, just get a splitter, however don't go for the cheapest. check the plastic quality and label for any misspelling, etc.. I had a fuse blown because of a cheap charger in the cig lighter.

I know for the older KJ's, the ash tray, cigarette lighter, and extra power port came with the smoker's group. Mine also has a power port in the cargo area. We pulled the ashtray out of mine since I don't smoke, and installed some switches there.

I have 04 "smokers group" and they moved the ashtray into the cupholder with removable covered ashtray.
I stuck a small $5 clock to where you have your space, because my radio didn't display the clock when I went aftermarket.

I have both the cigarette lighter & 12V Accy outlet up front and then a 12V accy outlet in the cargo area as well. So there are 3 total power points on my Liberty.

I bet if you found a 02/03 center bezel on eBay you could wire it up and then splice into the exisitng wiring to have a clean looking install.

I wanted the same thing in the brushed aluminum finish to match my trim when I got my '03, so i went on eBay and picked one up for around $45. The problem is, it didn't come pre-wired with the wiring harness in the back so there was no way to actually put power to the cig lighter half. You'll have to go to the dealer and get the male plug and wires for the back and splice from your power port. The two plugs are different if you look at them and so are the wiring adapters, so make sure you order the one for the cig lighter, not the power port. Also, the '03 and beyond has a single screw hole in the "open area" to hold the facia on, however the '02 facia does not, but it still fits nice and tight with the clips. I've had mine on since my Jeep was almost new and there hasn't been any squeaking or other problems. Hope this helps. Here is one for you
