Hi all,

I spent literally 8 hrs. yesterday researching wheel/tire sizing.....I just purchased a 07' Sport 4X4, I have no plans in the immediate future for a lift. However I plan on adding tires/wheels asap. I'm looking for suggestions as far as rubbing/clearance goes with the following combo- General Grabber tires 245-70R16 and Cragar Soft 8's 16x7, 4" backspacing. (This is the only option for backspacing I could find??).

Try discount tires for the rims,Unique steel makes the Crager soft 8's.Just ask for Unique steel rims(Unique style 297,is the soft 8 style) in the 16x7,they have more BS choices,I got the 4.5" BS ones and only paid $50 a rim from discount tire,they do have stock BS I believe also.Worth a shot.

You might run into some minor rubbing issues in the front running 4.5" BS with 245/70's on a unlifted KJ.Easy to deal with though,may need to pound down the pinch weld(topics in the 4x4 and tech sections cover that) and/or have to slightly bent in the front wheel well liner/trim bottom of bumber,you may or may not need to do any of this.I'm just saying you might due to the factory rims having 5.5" BS.Hope this helps a little.

Looks like I the wheels only come in 4" BS, according to Unique/Crager's website....What are your thoughts if I went down to a smaller tire size (235-70 R16)? Rubbing?

You may need to go to the store itself,there web sites has always been screwed up and does not list everything.They can get 4.5" or greater BS,they will have to order them but they can get them,the factory offset is 41mm by the way that will help them since they don't list BS at the retail store computers.

Probably a dumb question---What would the offset be for a 4.75" or 5" BS?
