I want to level my stock KJ. What is the easiest, cheapest & fastest way to do it? Got to get that front up a little!

Terry

Rusty's sells some .75" spacers for low $ exactly for that purpose.

I believe you have to take apart the coil/strut assembly for that. Which in turn requires an alignment. I would do a clevis lift; if you haven't done that.

X3 on the clevis
but what ever you do you will need an alignment so if a lift is in your plan for the next 6 months I would let it be

I did the clevis on the wifes KJ ,stock, and it looked kewl
now with the OME stuff it looks kewler and by Friday night when I put the MTR's on it will be?

Lol, yeah any woman that drives a lifted KJ gets bonus points.

To the OP, if you are planning on doing a lift soon like Jason said, wait on the clevis lift and do it at the same time. If it's more of a long term plan, do the Clevis lift earlier and enjoy :)

I don't know when I'll do the lift. I have to sell the motorhome first and then comes the hard part...convince the wife that I just have to have it! I like the reasoning on the "Cool Factor" :D

Terry...................thanks guys!

Lol, I'll be taking before and after pics of mine so you can show your wife how cool it is afterwards

Or I'll take some pre-lift photos of mine next to JJ's so she can see how not cool it is when the KJ is short

Convincing the wife is easy and most mechanic shops will gladly help
first you need about 30K+ on the odom.
then go to the mech. and complain of "bouncy ride"
then presto bad struts and shocks

Now the hard part for you easy for me
The front of our '03 was saging bad and she noticed it so I did a clevis lift to fix it then
The struts and shocks went bad 6 months later???
so I simply told her that we should not half arse it and we should just go a head and replace the springs while we are at it
I did not lie
I told her that with the OME springs it will be VERY close to 2" taller but what helped is I showed her a ruler and how big 2" was
the I walked over to the KJ and said "look how big this thing is 2" is nothing" wich is true if you look at the fact that the KJ is like 72" tall the 2" realy is nothing but when you lift it 2" it does make a differance

I also told the truth that the OME stuff rides way better than stock cause it does
I then explained that needing new shocks and struts will cost us ~$350 + install and that it would cost us nothing extra to have new springs installed at the same time so why not do it?
Now lucky for me Rustys had the med. duty OME springs for $100 a pair I dont know what the cost is now but it should still work out for you

Now here we are 6 months later OME lifted and I just finished putting on some Goodyear MT/R's and after seeing it my wife asked
"Why didn't jeep just make that an opption package?" "I would have bought it"
I realy LOVE my wife
but some times she needs a little push

Or you could just do what needs to be done and take the attitude
"It is better to ask for forgiveness than permission" I may take this approach when I put Tru-tracks front and rear

Jason nice explanation 8) I'm going to try it on my wife  all I'm hearing lately is " HOW COME YOURS RIDES SOFTER THAN MINE" so I told her I thought the shocks were going & she agreed to upgrade them soon BUT I want to slightly lift it also with the OME springs soft/med even though she DOES NOT want a lift because mine is somewhat too high for her ( Rusty's 2.5)

I would go med front and rear on the OME springs
I was told that you should keep them mached or stiffer up front because it will get a chop or something like that
I know that the OME's kick butt as far as ride

Yes get a OME lift, if you do install this lift install a rusty's strut plate to make it level!!!! do the same that is in my sig and you and your wife will love the ride quality. i gained about 2" - 2,5" of lift!

I have been putting little "things" in her head...very slow like. She won't even think it was my idea when I'm finished
