Took the Jeep to the dealer to address an inop speedometer. They chased it down to a bad BCM (body contro module). They pulled a BCM out of another car and swapped it with my "bad" one. For seven miles, everything worked great, then the speedo quit working. Turns out something fried the new BCM. So right now I'm looking at replacing the BCM (>$600) and fixing whatever is shorting the BCM. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
If I remember right there is a TSB(technical service bulliton) for BCM's for some years. The dealer should be able to look it up for you.Check the warrenty/tsb section I think it's in there somewhere.
