Looks tough, fits perfect, and serves a purpose. Looks good Joe, and a fine job Marty! I’m definitely putting this on my MUST HAVE LIST. Even my Wife said the bumper looks good. She’s kinda jealous of Joe’s Khaki colored Jeep, but other than jealousy, she thought the black bumper looked good. That means it must be stylish too! It always helps when the Wife approves! :D

God bless Marty for lugging these things around and anyone who installs it by themself. Mine almost killed me today, but it's on. First stop at the liquor store and I had gawkers standing around it when I came out.

now don't get me wrong i used to have a car and was always concerned with the way it all fits together....but it just doesn't look like it fits and looks kinda tacky imo. Where the bumper and taillights meet I think needs to be closer or you need to have something there....weather strip or something to fill in that gap because it just doesn't look like it fits. I don't know though just what I think other wise I like the bumper...haha

Quick question........are you gonna trim the little piece of wheel well that is hanging there or leave it?? they kinda look like mud flaps. Either way the bumper looks great. I personally think you should get a black front bumper and it would even up the look.

I am waiting on the Rock Lizard front bumper prototype.

I will most likely leave the flaps there to use as mud flaps.

There is a reason those gaps are there in the rear bumper. Rock Lizard explained it to me. Just for got what they were....old age.

Don't know about TJ but I used a nice sharp utility knife. I marked my lines w/ masking tape, scored the plastic along the line then cut deeper until it gave way. It was easy and worked well. I didn't even remove the flares to make the cuts.

JJ,

I tried that and slashed my index finger good when it slipped. I used the dremel after that. Yes, it sort of melts it as it moves along, but, with the tape on it, it isn't bad at all, just pull of the melted strings and it is smooth with no paint problems. I just didn't run a perfectly straight line on one part.

My Dremel has a little collar attachment that makes it into a little router (where you can a consistent offset from a hard edge). A ruler or other straight-edge taped in place above your cut with that attachment and the slowest speed adjustment on the tool would probably give the straightest cut and least melting.

Yup, got that one. I was actually looking for the forum post that discussed it in great detail when it was first being prototyped. It had a bunch more pics. I particularly wanted to see some pics which showed the "caps" which are covering the area under the taillights (where the swing aways would mount). I believe they were shown someplace.
