Heard this on regional radio when I was out bush last week.

Organisers of Australia’s premier off-road rally, the Australian Safari, announced today that after a two year absence the event will return in 2007 and take place for the first time in Western Australia (WA) from 17-25 August

The Australian Safari, frequently referred to as Australia’s ‘Paris to Dakar’ is a challenging off-road rally offering competitors and teams, on both four and two wheels, a gruelling trek across approximately 4500 kilometres of the country’s toughest outback terrain.

The provisional course for 2007 sees the race start in Kununurra and progress through regional centres such as Halls Creek, Broome, Port Hedland, Newman, Mount Magnet and Kalgoorlie before finishing in Perth.

The spokes person said there are team from all over the world including "Team Jeep" from the USA. Anyone here heard about this?

Hmm. No hadn't heard aboot that one. Hey, you'll be able to spectate at that will you palla?????

Well I was looking at going to some of the closer to Perth ones, prolly Magent & Kalgoorlie as they are only 6-7 hours away from home. & I can get some cheap accommodation at both these places
