Finally have gotten rid of the click noise. You would have thought that after the driveline got rebuilt that you could rule out the driveline. But no. Several things were done to solve it. The CV joint angle was too steep and it's parts were hitting each other. See pics below showing how tight the clearance was. All it took was a little shift up in the diff, as in acceleration, for the clearance to go away. Here are the steps I took to get rid of the problem.
- Dialed in the driveline angles. Still had the sound but no consistently. On hills and slopes mostly.
- Had the CV 'clearanced'. That is, ground down and hollowed out, then rebalanced. This cleared up most of it. Only heard the noise on occasion but it was still knocking around. So almost.
- Raised the engine 1". This has the effect of slanting the tranny/tcase downward toward the diff and smoothing the CV angle. Used JKS' 1" spacer block. Easy job. Problem has gone away.
Here's the kind of clearance I'm talking about. This is with the cap shaved and etc. I know it looks like a lot in the pic but consider the zoom.

The Teralow is in the rig and man can it crawl. My driveway is on about a 10 degree slope and it moves up in in 4th gear!
I still have that dang 'clicking' noise. Sounds like a rock in the tire but:
- Goes away when the clutch is pressed
- Goes away when the rear driveline is removed.
- Rear driveline has been rebuilt and balanced.
- Vehicle, with it's long arm lift, rides like a Caddy.
- No vibrations
- Doesn't do it in reverse
- All gears
Any ideas? Anyone?
