Pain in the @$$. Dude, I'm pretty darn mechanically inclined, but there are NO instructions with the kit, and even all the write ups here forget some pretty basic things you need to do when you attempt something like this. If you have never messed around with a suspension before, I say pay the man. (ed. if you do this, find out his favorite beer and try to get him to help you on the side. Every mechanic I know or have ever dealt with is more than happy to put a little extra cash in his pocket and sip his favorite cold ones...may not be fair or ethical, but its life....)
However, I also do highly recommend at least trying to do it yourself, simply because you will learn a lot about the suspension. Just understand the headache you will get doing it.
OH, and make sure you have the right tools...long handle torque wrench, 21 mm socket head, rubber mallet, jack stands, floor jack, spray on Lithium grease, etc etc. Its possible to use Autozone's spring compressors to put the struts together, but its much much much easier to just take it to a shop with a wall mount compressor. Call around and find one before driving everywhere.
I'm glad I did mine, but all the little problems together like squeeking, clunking, etc etc makes you have to find the source of the problem and fix it. It is NOT a problem with the kit, its the fact that the installation is a trial and error since Rusty's makes the unforgivable error of including no instructions. Headache, but now I'm a suspension pro, so take that for what its worth.
